When We Just Got Going
We bought this little "square" of land from the gentleman who owns the house in the background. It was strewn with gigantic coral boulders and full of fossils. Zion Hill must have been at the bottom of the ocean way back when. Bobo was excited to have all these rocks he could break down to use. To that end, I bought a Hilti hammer-drill on ebay and brought it to Jamaica in my luggage.
You can see he has already built a stone wall here.
Mr. Douglas who owns the cow pasture across the road sold us a tree. In this picture you can see Bobo's friend Choon cutting it up into planks using a chain saw while the local kids sit around and watch.
Choon preforming more feats of strength and skill with the aforementioned dangerous and powerful tool. In order to site the house, we had to dig out this whole hillside.
When we started out we could only afford a few hundred blocks at a time. Here you see them getting delivered and stacked on the side of Farm Road.
Bobo looking visionary. Actually, he is probably looking at the high tension wire that we had (with great difficulty) to get moved.

Robin Hood Guest House is located in the village of Sherwood Forest in Portland Parish in Jamaica. Nonsuch, which is up the road, is "the town that time forgot" but Sherwood Forest is pretty off the beaten track, too. The people around here are largely farmers and grow their own veggies, and raise chickens, goats and cows. There are a lot of tradesmen, too. Lucky for us.
